Vincent Thekal & Fabian Fiorini Quartet

Vincent Thekal and Fabian Fiorini’s passion for Thelonious Monk brought them together a few years ago. By dint of playing some of his carefully chosen compositions, they have succeeded in extracting their own identity. Because that is the whole danger of taking on sacred monsters : playing Monk is dizzying. To succeed in the challenge, you have to respect the work, be inspired by it without imitating : a perilous, daring and technical exercise, brilliantly taken up by our two accomplices. As a quartet, the duo is joined by a choice rhythm section with Dré Pallemaerts on drums and Nic Thys on bass.
