Stéphane Galland, our guest of the River Jazz Night !

Saturday, January 25, 2020

From January 10 to 25, the 6th edition of River Jazz festival will be held. As every year, the highlight of the festival will be its very special closing night : an artist invited to a carte blanche to present three projects the same evening : the first at 6pm at the Jazz Station, the second at 8pm at Senghor, and the last at 10pm at the Marni.

A musical marathon that the public is invited to follow through the old path of Maelbeek, the river that connected the Jazz Station to the Marni through the Senghor : River Jazz Festival, therefore ! For the first edition of the festival, in 2015, it was Manu Hermia who accepted the proposal. Then came Laurent Blondiau in 2016, Nic Thys in 2017, Tuur Florizoone in 2018 and Nicolas Kummert in 2019. For this sixth edition, it’s the incredible Stéphane Galland who will take up the challenge !

A drummer out of the ordinary, great rhythmic explorer in perpetual search of new pulsations, finding his polyrhythmic inspiration in the multiplicity of his artistic meetings, all around the world : Central African Republic, India, Balkans, ... He draws his inspirations in registers also colorful and cheerful and will give us a triple sample during this traveling evening in Brussels. Because the Night is a custom-made evening for the festival, 3 sets that reflect the DNA of each scene.

Buy the pass and follow the crew, by bus or by foot because it is one of the dates of the year that should not be missed, it is unique !
