Sofia Ribeiro Quartet

Sofia Ribeiro is one of the greatest voices from Portugal, a magnificent singer who has the ability to immediately attract the listener to her unique musical universe. With a solid background in jazz studies, a deep connection to Fado, Sofia’s artistry challenges the boundaries of music labels. She has won several international jazz prizes, taught and performed alongside Bobby McFerrin at Circle Songs School (U.S.A.), was an artist in residence at the Carnegie Hall in New York, and gave a TED talk about vocal improvisation in Colombia. Well-known for her strong, emotional and uplifting performances where she enthusiastically tells stories about the songs and often invites the audience to sing, Sofia Ribeiro has been captivating listeners all over the world with her warm and powerful sound.
