Sofia Ribeiro Quartet

CD release "Lunga"

Sofia Ribeiro - voice / Juan Andres Ospina - piano / Boris Schmidt - double bass / Marcelo Woloski – drums

This impressive quartet returns to the Jazz Station to present their new album. Portuguese singer Sofia Ribeiro, a regular at the Jazz Station, sings jazz, as well as a fado heritage, a samba heritage and other traditional Brazilian music. She tells us with a lot of complicity and dynamism stories, anecdotes of life in her songs, in Spanish, English and Portuguese. She has won numerous awards and is currently one of the greatest singers in her country. She lives in New York but her music remains very open and very faithful to her roots. For this concert, she comes back again with the talented Juan Andres Ospina, Colombian pianist with whom she worked on his previous records.
In percussion, we find the Argentine Marcelo Woloski, who does not lack strings to his bow, with two hundred concerts a year, many with Snarky Puppy, and a fantasy that does not leave indifferent.
