Pauline Leblond Trio

The trio is a typical formation of the jazz tradition, we know particularly with piano for example. But Pauline wanted to include a rhythm section without harmonic instrument, so that everyone enjoys more space and greater freedom. This trio offers freshness by rehabilitating standards as well as personal compositions; a breath necessary to listen to the different atmospheres that the three musicians propose. Between them, we hear a permanent dialogue favoring sometimes the rhythmic aspect of each instrument, sometimes the timbre, sometimes the harmonic and melodic colors. Victor Foulon’s double bass and Matthias de Waele’s drums complement each other. Together, they found the base of this trio and brought a decided swing, to leave a place of solist to the trumpet of Pauline Leblond, remarkable for its sound and its sense of melody.
