MEAL Collectif x Jazz Station - Spirituality

The MΣAL collective, created by Célia Rorive (contemporary dance) and Damien Brassart (soprano saxophone), continues its exploration of the encounter between jazz, improvised music and contemporary dance, with two performances on Thursday, April 17 and June 19, 2025 at the Jazz Station.

These evenings will combine artistic performance and lecture. Musician and jazz historian Hugues Warin will lead a lecture on spirituality in the history of jazz, shedding light on the spiritual and mystical roots of this music. The collective, always on the lookout for new interactions between dance and improvised music, is increasingly taking over the space of the Jazz Station, a veritable laboratory where body and sound merge in a continuous search for creativity.

Each performance, in direct contact with the DNA of jazz, offers a unique dialogue between improvisation and spirituality, through raw energy and the emotion of the moment.
