Belgian guitarist Julien Tassin builds a prolific and expressive oeuvre around constant exploration and idiosyncratic originality. With a deep devotion to crafting strong, lyrical melodies and cinematic themes, he has carved out a distinctive musical landscape that draws inspiration from diverse genres including blues, free improvisation, rock, folk and jazz. Belgian singer Lynn Cassiers (YUN, Tape Cuts Tape, Lilly Joel) and Italian bass player Manolo Cabras (Manu Hermia Freetet, Erik Vermeulen Trio) have been playing together for almost 20 years. Being long time allies, they’ve collaborated in different projects together. Flying Nimbus is the most intimate version of this partnership, inhibiting space with electronic textures and songs of both Cabras and Cassiers.Throughout their repertoire one can always here a far echo of jazz. A curious combination of elements, treated freely and crafty into Flying Nimbus’ peculiar universe.
