The Jazzlab Orchestra is a group of 8 musicians that has been presenting creative music since 2003. This artistic collaboration group has realized various projects over the years, but always including top musicians from the Montreal jazz scene. After 6 albums and more than 250 concerts around the world, the Jazzlab now offers Quintessence with the music of the composer and pianist Félix Stüssi. On the program: a refined music in search of the essence of jazz.

Toine Thys Trio

Toine Thys - soprano and tenor sax, bass clarinet / Arno Krijger (NL) - Hammond organ / Karl Jannuska (CA) - drums, percussion
The trio revolves around the Hammond organ and Toine Thys music whose compositions, rooted in groove, are influenced by soul and African music. In some parts, the interventions of the bass clarinet metamorphose the atmosphere and bring to this formation sensuality and uncertainty. Sometimes the energetic tracks, such as the furious grooves of Canadian Karl Jannuska’s drums, give way to the mystery and sweetness brought by Toine’s sound and the warmth of Arno Krijger’s play.
