Jazz Portrait - John Abercrombie

A Hint of Fusion to Close 2024. John Abercrombie (1944-2017) was one of the most original voices in modern guitar, standing alongside legends like Mike Stern, John Scofield, and Pat Metheny. After studying at Berklee College of Music, Abercrombie began his career playing with Billy Cobham and Gato Barbieri before establishing himself as a leader. During this evening, we’ll have the pleasure of revisiting Abercrombie’s work with his trio, as well as his collaborations with a diverse array of artists including Michael Brecker, Kenny Wheeler, Charles Lloyd, and Dave Holland. Expect a year-end celebration that’s both powerful and deeply melodic !
