Imperial Quartet

Damien Sabatier · sopranino & alto saxes / Gérald Chevillon · tenor sax / Joachim Florent · double bass / Antonin Leymarie · drums

From an impossible journey to the musical depths of Louisiana, the Imperial Quartet returns with its renewed science of the soundtrack. This luminous fourth opus is called ‘All Indians ?’ and deepens a little more the already sprawling furrow of this extraordinary quartet. In hollow, this squaring of the scene raises the question of the creolization of identities. Starting from this mythical land of the great South of the United States... to offer it to the universal with ears open to the four winds ! It took four musicians-azimuths to hold the culture shock. Antonin Leymarie seems to contain in his drums all the rhythmic power and nuances of the Afro-American musical melting pot. Joachim Florent continues to explore the subtleties of his double bass to perfect a complex architecture... but terribly welcoming for the pair of blowers Damien Sabatier and Gérald Chevillon, a symbiotic core that carries the energy of a high-flying brass band.
