Filippo Bianchini Quintet

When it has to swing, it has to swing. So why go there four ways ? If you have a furious urge to tap your feet or snap your fingers, let yourself be carried away by Italian saxophonist Filippo Bianchini and his band. Fed up with hard bop and inspired by the greatest (from Rollins to Lovano via Gordon or Henderson) Bianchini lacks neither energy nor ideas. Because the saxophonist also has enough temperament to impose his own style. He knows how to propel his group, drag it very far and then let it go to let his accomplices enjoy beautiful spaces that they will fill with witty solos. It’s bright, optimistic and it’s a lot of good for morale.
