Exhibition "Musiques gravées"

by Jean-Claude Salémi

Linocuts
From January 9 to February 29, 2020

As every year on the occasion of the River Jazz Festival, the Jazz Station offers you, in partnership with the Théâtre Marni and the Espace Senghor, an exhibition distributed in the three partner locations. This year, we are pleased to exhibit the magnificent work of Jean-Claude Salémi.

"I have been working as an illustrator and since the end of the 80s, I mostly use lino cutting techniques. This allows me to be more concise, play with white and black masses and therefore add more details to the image. I find that this rhythm of black and white goes well with music and with the images of musicians in full action, friends or well-known or unknown people, who are displayed in this exhibition. And, just like listening to a recording, the impression of a print can be filled with surprises !
Above all, I hope, it is exhibited with some humour and a little touch of swing and jazz accordion music."
