West Coast is a style of jazz developped in Los Angeles and San Francisco in the 50s, often seen as a subgenre of cool jazz, which consisted of a calmer style than bebop or hard bop. Gerry Mulligan / Chet Baker Quartet (one of the most famous ‘pianoless’quartet), the Lee Konitz / Warne Marsh / Lennie Tristano association or the Four Brothers (with Stan Getz and Zoot Sims) have had a strong influence on the jazz scene for decades. Thomas Champagne and Adrien Volant will cross their horns and present you a repertoire of great classic compositions of that time ! A pianoless quartet needs a strong rhythm section ! You will be pleased by the creativity, the strongness and the interaction of Hendrik Vanattenhoven and Jan de Haas.
