Chouette x Jazz Station #1 - Nena
During the spring of 2025, the Jazz Station entrusts the keys to Chouette for two carte blanche evenings. An opportunity for the agency to showcase its artists, offering them a space for total experimentation.
With no fixed format, each evening is dedicated to a band from the roster, a unique opportunity for them to unveil their universe in a veritable creative laboratory. Between music, projections, dance and other surprises, each project comes to life in a new form, inviting the public to discover the artists beyond the traditional concert.
NENA
Nena Sanchez : lead vocal & cuatro / Mohamed Dziri : guitar / Antoine Dawans : trumpet / Antoine Rotthier : drums & percussion
Between two territories, between flight and return, NENA sings with her heart and guts about the past of all her people.
Born on the banks of the Meuse in a family of Spanish political exiles, NENA sings with intensity about the scars of migration and memories of her grandparents’ rural Spain. Nicknamed “the little Pasionaria” from childhood, she draws on her family history to shape compositions imbued with revolt and hope.
Oscillating between Nouvelle Chanson latine, folk and rumba flamenca, she draws inspiration from great figures such as Chavela Vargas and Violeta Parra, blending poetic melancholy with Iberian rhythms. In 2023, after opening for Manu Chao in Liège, she embarked on her first solo project.
Her EP LA RAÍZ, released on March 23, 2024, explores a return to her roots through six tracks imbued with Hispanic warmth and raw emotion.
