Bart Defoort & Victor Da Costa Quartet

Bart Defoort - tenor sax / Victor Da Costa - guitar / Victor Foulon - double bass / Armando Luongo - drums

Renowned saxophonist Bart Defoort has recorded multiple albums with his own projects. He has also been part of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra since its creation in 1993. He has a very warm sound offering a melodic language inspired in particular by Dexter Gordon, Hank Mobley, Sonny Rollins, or even John Coltrane.
For his part, Victor Da Costa, originally from Brazil, has also recorded several personal projects. He has performed with Philip Catherine, Steve Houben, and Marcia Maria. He has a very fluid and melodic style, inspired by great guitarists such as Jim Hall, Wes Montgomery, or Jimmy Raney.
For several years now, these four experienced musicians have been playing together regularly. They offer you personal compositions as well as arrangements of standards. The atmosphere of the “Hard-Bop” era of the 50s and 60s is never far away, without sinking into an exacerbated nostalgia. Mutual listening and musical communication are one of the pillars of the group, so that the pleasure of listening to them is increased tenfold.
