OUT OF THE BOX

For some time, our team has been thinking about several ways to go beyond our walls, without falling into the easy trap of “taking jazz elsewhere”. To explore new avenues and broaden our scope of action beyond conventional jazz, we are launching yet another challenge, a festival punctuated by the summer and winter solstices, and exploring the theme of letting go. And even if it means letting go, you might as well set an example. Starting in June, the Jazz Station is offering a series of evenings dedicated to clubbing, but not just any clubbing: instrumental above all! And of course, it would be too simple to just offer you a reason to celebrate with us.
Let’s be honest: jazz suffers from solid barriers, those of an environment based on openness but clearly white-masculine(ist), seen as elitist when not really, old when not at all, cerebral and yet so organic. Our team wishes to deconstruct the stereotypes of our environment, its cocoon, its prejudices and its comfort by embarking on other avenues than those we develop within our usual programming. Through improvisation, trance and corporeality, music and dance, our ambition is to offer inclusive and experimental events while remaining eminently festive.
An explosive cocktail of performances, jams, live concerts and workshops, dedicated to letting go: dance and the body at the center of attention, in a free, safe, inclusive spirit and listening to each person’s rhythm. The first draft of a future series of events, this evening will highlight a multitude of forms, improvised or not.
Throughout the night, we promise you soft, sweet, spicy, sometimes raw, and always the best of the best!
