Cancelled - Nitai Hershkovits Trio (ISR/USA)

CD release "Lemon The Moon"

Nitai Hershkovits - piano / Or Bareket - double bass / Amir Bresler - drums

After studying classical music and piano in Israel, the young Nitaï Hershkovits joined the group of bassist Avishai Cohen in 2011. Together they recorded three opus. In 2016, the pianist moved to New York where he recorded with many artists (Theo Bleckmann, Matt Penman, Mark Turner, Marcus Gilmore, Kendrick Scott, Jorge Rossy, Gilad Hekselman… among others) and became a regular member groups from Oded Tzur and Ari Hoenig. The pianist released his first album "I Asked You A Question" (Raw Tapes Records) in February 2016. Quite eclectic, the album explores the field of analog electronics which he mixes with the improvised dimension of jazz.
In July 2018, he went on tour for two weeks in Japan in trio with two musicians he has known for a long time, the drummer Amir Bresler and the bass player Or Bareket. It was with them that he recorded his third album "Lemon The Moon" (Enja Yellow Bird / L’Autre Distribution) released on November 15, 2019. The opus achieves the feat of creating a climate whose diaphanous contrasts are conducive to meditation. With lightness and elegance, the titles draw a transparent music whose bright backlights are adorned with elegant sweetness. The music of the trio transcends genres and conveys a broad musical spectrum with varied contrasts. Nitaï Hershkovits invites you to walk in dreamlike atmospheres that draw soothing imaginary spaces.
