A Fisherman’s Tale

In 2014, bassist Christophe Devisscher receives a carte blanche from the Jazz Station. With Frank Deruytter (sax), Christian Mendoza (piano) and Dré Pallemaerts (drums), they alternate pieces composed together over the years and unpublished works. In 2015, the group went to Osnabrück, studio Fattoria Musica and early 2016, the album "A Fisherman’s Tale" appears on the label Cornfish Music. This special and very personal project reflects the work of a musician who waited a long time before creating a group under his own name.
The online music magazine Enola wrote: "It’s a quartet that plays with empathy and in which every musician makes a fundamental contribution to the sound of the band, and yet it’s not as easy as it first looks.”
