Jazz Station Big Band “Moods”

The Jazz Station Big Band is releasing “Moods”, their brand new album on the Hypnote Records label. This long-awaited recording made sparks because it was prowled for many months between the walls of the Jazz Station. So it seemed obvious to celebrate the official release of the new plate there. Original pieces by Steven Delannoye, François Decamps, Jean-Paul Estiévenart and Stéphane Mercier give this album different ’moods’ without ever moving away from this unique sound, acquired thanks to the alchemy of the strong personalities who make up the Jazz Station Big Band. “The Jazz Station Big Band is hands down one of Europe’s most promising big bands. The writing is ingenious and ambitious, and the arrangements are deep and sane. Their astute use of odd bars, meter changes and free improvisation keep the listener alert, but a great lyricism, simplicity and beauty are also found in their work. This is without a doubt a high quality album from an orchestra with unlimited potential "Antonio Sanchez (drummer for Pat Metheny Group, and composer of the soundtrack for the film ’Birdman’, Oscar for best film (2015) and César for best foreign film).
