Eliott Knuets

CD release "Introducing Eliott Knuets"

Eliott Knuets - guitar, compositions / Matthias Van Den Brande - saxophone / Olivier Collette - piano / Sam Gerstmans - double bass / Daniel Jonkers - drums

This young 18-year-old Belgian guitarist started playing the guitar at the age of 6. First immersed in the musical universe of rock, he quickly became passionate about jazz. He trained with Peter Hertmans and Bert Cools.
When he was only 16, he had the great chance to jam with Wynton Marsalis during a tour in Belgium. The latter having spotted him, he then invited him to come and play at Dizzy’s Club in New York, for a virtual session (Covid obliges!).
Subsequently, Eliott was invited to play with the Brussels Jazz orchestra for a live session. We find him at the opening of the DjangoFollies 2022 festival and again on the main stage of BOZAR for a concert presenting his own compositions.
His musical playing is enriched by the influences of many musicians he listens to and particularly appreciates such as Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Mike Moreno, Lage Lund, Peter Bernstein, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jesse Van Ruller, Brad Mehldau, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsali…
In January 2021, Eliott recorded his first album with Olivier Collette (piano), Sam Gerstmans (double bass), Daniel Jonckers (drums) and for a few tracks, Stéphane Guillaume (tenor, soprano & flute sax) and Peter Hertmans (guitar).
