POSTPONED // Airelle Besson Quartet (FR) "Try"

For reasons beyond our control (the musicians having had to cancel their entire tour), we are unfortunately forced to postpone this concert to a later date. We apologize for this unexpected postponement.

In 2015, with the album "Radio One", we discovered the quartet brought together by Airelle Besson, elected the same year "Revelation" at the Victoires du Jazz! The reception of the press and the public was unanimous. The chemistry and the bond between these 4 musicians explode on stage. The idea of a second album becomes obvious. This one had to be a natural extension of the first one with the same process of research and quest for sound. However, collegial creation has had to reinvent itself, like many things in 2020. And it was finally from a handful of days of rehearsals followed by recording at the La Buissonne studio in August 2020 that ‘TRY!’ was born.

The result is a reflection of the process: open, spontaneous, intensely present. Where ‘Radio One’ was written and structured, ‘TRY!’ offers a less fringed, more flexible and moving form. The sound of the quartet comes out reinforced, from the first notes, the group signature is obvious, its identity affirmed. The pleasure of the musicians is palpable, it carries us away. After more than five years of concerts, everyone has found their place, listens to each other, falls silent the better to tune in and find each other. Benjamin Moussay sets the tone, atmospheric and vaporous. Powerful and full, the voice of Isabel Sörling joins the softness of Airelle Besson’s playing. With absolute delicacy, Fabrice Moreau magnifies the whole.
