Open scene

SINGING, IN ALL ITS STATES

Initially created in 1998 at the Music Village, then having taken place in Sounds Jazz Club, the improvement’s workshops “Singers Night” moved in the Jazz Station since the season 2014-2015 at the instigation of the organizers : the singer Natacha Wuyts and the pianist Yannick Schyns.

It is about a monthly appointment with the vocal Jazz : an open scene where amateur singers, students or professionals can perfect on stage their mastering of Jazz singing and share with the public their interpretations of the highly various repertoire of the vocal Jazz.

They are accompanied throughout the evening by professional musicians. For the candidates, the evening begins at 18:00 with a warm-up. Every singer has to come the same evening at 18:00 at the Jazz Station with 3 partitions by piece, in the tone adapted to his voice (melody and coded chords), with a maximum of two songs by person (and only one single ballad). Adjustment with the musicians from 18:00 to 20:00.

The concert begins at 8:30 pm and takes place in two sets. It is not necessary to register in advance to participate in it.

The Singers Night takes place one Friday evening a month at 20:30, in association with the non-profit association Ars Nova. Themes change every edition.
